I firmly agree with Static Control that the DMCA should not apply to ink/toner cartridges. The intent of the DMCA was to protect against methods of bypassing copyright controls, not to create a monopoly for a printer manufacturer. Lexmark's usage of the DMCA for the sole purpose of stifling competition is
