Outlook – Account Configuration- For Users Who Have Previously Used Outlook May 27, 2008 Use this procedure to configure your Outlook account if you have previously used Outlook. Quick Reference IT – Technical Services ****The instructions labeled Outlook Configuration are designed for the vast majority of DOT users that have never used Outlook. Those instructions will have the users going through the Outlook wizard that starts up the first time you open Outlook. If you have previously used Outlook, use these instructions. 1. 2. From your desktop, select My Computer | Control Panel | Mail The Mail Setup – Outlook window displays. Select E-mail Accounts… 3. The Email Accounts window displays. 1. Select Add a new e-mail account. 2. Select Next. Please call the NCDOT Help Desk with any questions. 919-861-3840 1-800-368-2778 4. A Microsoft Office Outlook window displays message like the above displays. Select Yes. 5. The Email Accounts screen displays. Select Microsoft Exchange Server and then Next. 6. • • Your Outlook username is your Netscape username. Your Outlook password is your NCID password. The Exchange Server Settings screen displays. 1. Enter mbx.ad.ncmail in the Microsoft Exchange Server: field. 2. Verify that Use Cached Exchange Mode is checked. 3. Enter your netscapeusername@ncdot.gov in the User Name: field. 4. Select the Check Name button. a. A user name / password screen displays. Enter your netscapeusername@ncdot.gov in the User Name: field and your NCID password in the Password: field and click OK. Note: The name that you had previously entered into the Microsoft Exchange Server: field will change and become underlined. Note: The name that you had previously entered in the User Name: field will change and become underlined. Note: If the Microsoft Exchange Server: field and the User Name: field is not underlined, please verify that you entered the correct information in both fields and select the Check Name button again. 5. Select the Next > button. 7. The Congratulations screen displays. Select Finish. • • Your Outlook username is your Netscape username. Your Outlook password is your NCID password.
