Secured O.I.T. backup media with Iron Mountain in Baton Rouge. Provided all identified college-wide emergency response members with cellular and wireless capabilities through a combination of non-504 area code cellular phones, laptops, satellite phones, blackberries and wireless internet cards.) Communicated in advance with LSUHSC and NACR as to what our potential needs may be and the expectations in the event of an emergency. (A planning meeting w/LSUHSC staff to sync our DRP with their plan is scheduled; and, we have communicated with NACR and OTM regarding anticipated DR telecommunication needs if required.) Established and alternate website and email provider for the College in the event of an emergency. (The alternate website address is: http://webmail.dcc911.com ) Installed a new telephone system which has a DR communication server already setup in Baton Rouge with designated communication lines to re-route all campus lines and voice mail via a 1800 number. - In addition a plan has been established with OTM to re-establish the call center in Baton Rouge or at NTG in case of an emergency. - OTM has been made aware that with the new telephone system we may need assistance with moving equipment to Baton Rouge - The new telephones system is connected via fiber optic which makes it more resilient; shortens the ability to restore phone service; we are less depended on a third-party vendor.
