The Bloomsbury Theatre’s education department hosts a series of workshops and lectures based on Euripides’ The Trojan Women. CLASSICS AT THE BLOOMSBURY
UCL Classical Drama Society present Aeschylus'
Agamemnon
Tuesday 12 - Thursday 14 February Agamemnon is one of the most popular of surviving Greek plays, and had similar popularity in antiquity. The Oresteia (the trilogy of plays which Agamemnon opens) was re-performed, imitated, and parodied extensively even in Classical Athens. The play is set in the aftermath of the Trojan War, and is one of the most theatrical of all Greek plays. A series of vivid images and striking coups de theatre serve to constantly shock and delight the audience. www.ucl.ac.uk/GrandLat/play.html

Bacchic
Monday 21 & Tuesday 22 April A provocative update of Euripides' tragedy The Bacchae What happens when a charismatic figure arrives with a promise of fulfilment that brings both pleasure and pain?
